What are the adjustment methods of horizontal multi-stage pump? Two common methods are introduced in detail.

1. Gate valve and throttle valve

The simple way to change the total flow of centrifugal pump is to adjust the opening of the gate valve at the inlet and outlet of centrifugal pump, while the speed ratio of horizontal multi-stage centrifugal pump will not change (generally the rated speed ratio). Its essence is to change the position of the pipeline characteristic curve to change the working condition of the pump. The intersection point of characteristic curve Q-H of centrifugal pump and characteristic curve Q - ∑ h of pipeline is the limit working condition point of centrifugal pump with gate valve fully open. When the gate valve is reduced, the friction resistance of the pipeline increases, the working point of the centrifugal pump shifts, and the relative total flow decreases. When the gate valve is fully closed, it means that the friction resistance is large and the total flow is zero. At this time, the pipeline characteristic curve overlaps with the longitudinal axis. It is not difficult to see that when the gate valve is used to control the total flow, the power supply capacity of the multi-stage pump itself will not change, the head characteristics of the pump will not change, and the pipe resistance characteristics will change with the change of the opening degree of the gate valve. This kind of method is easy to operate, the total flow is continuous, and can be adjusted between a Zui large flow and zero without additional project investment, so it can be widely used. But the throttle valve adjustment is to consume the unnecessary kinetic energy of the centrifugal pump (part of the shadow on the figure) to maintain a certain demand, the high efficiency of the centrifugal pump will also be reduced, and the economic development is not very effective.

2. DC variable frequency variable speed

Horizontal centrifugal pump working condition point shift high efficiency area is the basic standard of centrifugal pump speed change. When the multi-stage pump speed ratio changes, the gate valve opening will not change (generally Zui large opening), the pipeline system software characteristics will not change, but the power supply capacity and pump head characteristics will change with the change. When the required total flow is lower than the rated total flow, the head of the pump is smaller than that of the throttle valve of the gate valve, so the power output of the DC variable frequency speed is smaller than that of the throttle valve of the gate valve. Obviously, compared with gate valve and throttle valve, the actual effect of environmental protection and energy saving of DC variable frequency variable speed is very prominent, and the working efficiency of horizontal multi-stage centrifugal pump is higher. In addition, the selection of DC variable frequency speed not only helps to reduce the probability of cavitation of centrifugal pump, but also increases the whole process of start-up / shutdown according to the preset acceleration / deceleration time, which greatly reduces the dynamic torque, thus eliminating the destructive water hammer effect on a very large level, It greatly increases the service life of centrifugal pump and pipeline system software.
